Types of cheekbone reduction

Frontal cheekbone
If the frontal zygoma protrudes excessively, the bone is L-fractured through incision in the oral cavity, the bone fragments are removed, and the bone is rotated and moved inward. If it is reduced too much, however, the face may look plain. Thus, it is important to cut appropriately without damaging the right volume. -
Side cheekbone (principle of zygoma cubic rotation)
Reducing the side cheekbone decreases the width of the face and makes the face look smaller. The cheekbones are fractured, rotated, moved, and pushed inward. -
45-degree cheekbone
The results of the 45-degree cheekbone surgery differ depending on the position of the bone. Thus, it should be fractured and repositioned for reduced cheekbones and smaller face. Moreover, if it is not fixed properly, the cheeks may sag. Therefore, it should be firmly fixed to remain continuously in the proper position.
